New UK Dates Announced

Through the month of May we will be embarking our first UK tour in almost three years, with dates spanning from Aberdeen to London - hurrah! We also have the pleasure of embarking on this little adventure with the remarkably talented Tom Morris, front-man of one of our favourite bands Her Name Is Calla.

On each of the dates we will be playing a mix of material from our forthcoming 'Wilderness' album and older material from 'As Our Blood Separates' and our debut 'Eleven. Return and Revert'. If there are any songs you'd like to hear on this tour, tweet us about it or tell us on Facebook and we'll see if we can't pop it in the setlist. We may also play a track that's so new it's not even on our new album, that's really rather new.

There are currently nine shows on our calendar, with another two or possibly three for the month of May to come - new dates will be announced here on our website and on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

The dates are as follows:

Mar 7 Wahl Bar, Manchester

Mar 8 Mad Ferret, Preston

May 15 13th Note, Glasgow

May 16 Cafe Drummond, Aberdeen

May 17 Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh

May 23 Mad Ferret, Preston

May 25 Hand Made Festival, Leicester

May 26 The Castle, Manchester

May 28 Power Lunches, London Tickets

May 30 Mother's Ruin, Bristol

There are still a few special 'Wilderness' pre-order packages left on the Monotreme Records webshop - with the pre-order you get an exclusive unreleased track, badge, sticker as well as a CD and download copy of the album. Pre-orders are available here: http://monotremerecords.limitedrun.com/products/508618-midas-fall-wilderness-cd-and-digital-album-pre-order

Midas Fall supporting Her Name Is Calla on December mini-tour

We are very happy to announce that we will be supporting the beautiful Her Name Is Calla on their UK mini-tour in December. Cities we will be visiting are York, London and Leicester, with further support coming from Richard Parker and The Microdance. For tickets and further information please keep up with the event page on Facebook.

This Saturday we will be supporting We Were Promised Jetpacks at the Mad Ferret in Preston with further support coming from Manchester's Rook and the Ravens.

These shows will be our last of 2012 as we take a little time off to prepare for our 2013 European tour and forthcoming second album release.

In other Midas Fall news, we're very sad to say that Simon will no longer be playing with the band due to personal commitments. As such, we're currently hunting for a replacement to join us on our 2013 tour and beyond. Details of the full touring line-up will be announced early next year.

Live dates:

October 13th - Mad Ferret, Preston w/ We Were Promised Jetpacks and Rook and the Ravens

December 11th - 93 Feet East, London
December 12th - Stereo, York
December 16th - White Noise Festival, Leicester

September Show in Budapest and Second Album Update

Midas Fall live in Budapest
We are excited to announce we will be coming to Budapest on Tuesday September 25th for a one-off show opening the Soundkitchen Music Is My Blanket night at Akvárium Klub!

Advance tickets are 1,500HUF and 2,000HUF on the door. Full information, including details of the support acts and show times are available on the Sound Kitchen event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/330040100423766/

It's been almost a year since we last played Budapest and we've been itching to come back.  Our last trip was over all too quickly as our tour schedule didn't allow us any time to really absorb the city, so we're really looking forward to having a couple of days over there.
In other news, our second album is now at the mixing stage, with only a couple of minor parts left to record. Woohoo! More info, including the title and track-listings will be posted here and on our social networking accounts over the coming weeks and months and we'll get an official release date out there asap.
To promote the new album we are planning to tour Europe again next March / April time - look out for new live shows over the coming weeks and months. Some places we can say with certainty we will play again are Greece, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria with a few UK dates in there as well.

In the meantime you can listen to and download tracks for free from our Soundcloud page at: http://www.soundcloud.com/midasfall

Midas Fall Second Album Update

There'll be none of this on our next album
Once again we've been a little lax with our blog updates, but this is only because we've been so busy making our second, as yet untitled album.

Before delving any deeper into the writing and recording progress, we'd like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who came to our show at the Hoxton Underbelly last month and to all the other bands. We had a wonderful time and are very much looking forward to playing in London again, but this is unlikely to be for some time, which brings us to....

...album progress! It feels like a very long time since we recorded 'Eleven. Return and Revert' and almost equally long since 'As Our Blood Separates', so we're very excited about the completion of our second album edging ever closer. The next album will most likely have nine tracks, of which we are now two thirds of the way through recording. In order to avoid entering Fleetwood Mac 'Rumours' territory (as we may have veered into shortly after finishing 'Eleven...') we've decided to record in batches of three songs at a time. To date this method has proved considerably less stressful; so far we're on schedule, 87% less tantrums have been thrown and so far not a single alarm clock has been annihilated!

The second album will not be released until early 2013, so until then we will try our level best to keep you entertained, perhaps in the form of the odd cover or remix - is there a song you'd like to hear our take on? If so, let us know - comment, tweet and email us (info [@] midasfall [.] com) your suggestions!

Once we have completed the second album we may do a couple of shows in the UK to showcase some (or maybe a lot) of the new songs, for news on this you can join our mailing list (and get a free tune!) or keep up with us on Facebook and Twitter.

In the meantime please enjoy some free downloads from our Soundcloud page here: http://soundcloud.com/midasfall/sets/downloads-39/
